Solutions Engineer SL Corporation – Corte Madera, CA  (San Francisco Bay Area)

SL Corporation provides a real-time monitoring, analytics and visualization platform that is used by Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies worldwide to monitor their critical applications and services.  SL solutions are used across many APM (Application Performance Monitoring) and middleware monitoring domains. 

SL is currently expanding its technical support organization.  We are currently seeking an experienced and personable Solutions Engineer.  This person will support the development of our growing RTView business and provide technical assistance in pre- and post-sales engagements.  Other responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales to identify and technically qualify new business opportunities

  • Work with clients to identify challenges and determine requirements

  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations

  • Recommend technical solutions according to customer requirements and product specifications

  • Perform hands on design work to prove SL software capabilities to customers during evaluations and PoCs
    (Proof of Concepts)

  • Ensure customers are successful integrating our products after the sale is made

  • Perform pre-sale functions in support of the sales cycle, including prototyping, architecting and explaining solutions implemented with SL products.

  • Provide input regarding internal product or training improvements.

Candidate should have:

  • Min. 3-5 years experience in a pre-sales or post-sales support role

  • Familiarity with APM tools or middleware messaging systems such as TIBCO is highly desired

  • Willingness to travel

  • Java J2SE programming experience

  • Relational Databases (SQL/ODBC/JDBC)

  • Web Technologies (HTML, JavaScript, XML, Apache/Tomcat)

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Detail oriented and strong follow up skills        

  • BS/BA degree

Other Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with J2EE, servlets, portlets, JMX and application servers

  • GUI Design Experience (web or application development)

At SL, the Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategy and programs to increase market visibility and drive sales growth. This individual is instrumental in the strategy, planning, execution, and evaluation of Web, Social Media and electronic marketing programs geared towards gaining new clients and up-selling the existing client base.  The position requires high-energy, a positive outlook, and above all, strong writing skills.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop marketing plans and deliverables to enable customers, partners, and analysts to understand the value of SL solutions

    • Work with the management team to refine positioning and messaging

    • Develop content including website copy,  product data sheets, customer case studies, whitepapers, videos, and press releases

    • Work with marketing team to design, develop and implement innovative demand generation programs, including online advertising campaigns, direct marketing, and webinars

    • Responsible for SL’s corporate website, user group portal and social media presence

    • Work with marketing team to research and manage trade shows and events

    • Optimize the use of demand generation infrastructure including SalesForce and the Pardot marketing automation platform

    • Understand, report on, and improve the performance of marketing campaigns

    • Manage relations and communications schedules with industry analysts

Desired Candidate Skills & Experience:

  • 10 + years proven enterprise software experience

  • Strong writing skills and experience developing clear and concise collateral materials. (writing samples will be required)

  • Experience in Systems Management, Application Monitoring, or Middleware domains is a plus

  • Positive, energetic and creative thinker
