Algo trading models and new principles-based regulations have sparked an explosion of new data and data retention, increasing the stress on capital market firms. However, the volume of data is only part of the challenge; the cost of managing the data is also increasing, while the pressure to turn it into actionable information in a timely manner is rising. With such challenges, it is even more critical for investment firms to have a strong infrastructure that can not only handle large volumes of data, but is flexible enough to adapt to the high volatility of today's trading environments and support mission-critical decisions.

Join former global IT chief operating officer of Barclays Capital, PJ Di Giammarino, Sybase's lead strategist, Neil McGovern, and SL Corporation's vice president of Business Development, Ted Wilson, to learn winning strategies for putting the right "Chief Risk Officer (CRO)" data capabilities in place that will help you know your data better so you can access the right information faster and cheaper than your competition.

What you will learn:

  • Key ways to effectively mitigate competitive threats with better data models
  • How to better manage data silos and significantly improve data quality
  • How to establish the "CRO balance point" for more effective management of data
  • Key infrastructure requirements for today's trading environments
